Origin of Seagulls
[edit]Hi, The information on origin of seagulls is incorrect. I remember quite clearly as a youngish fan being upset when they were nicknamed the Dolphins, as they were already known informally as the Gulls. Does anybody know of an early reference to this name so that the correction can be made. Argus columns maybe? — Preceding unsigned comment added by RayTayMiht (talk • contribs) 07:33, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
Old Brightonians FC
[edit]The comment there had been an Old Brightonians team representing the area in the early FA Cup ties may be erroneous. The club in question were formed of alumni of public school Brighton College, not all of whom were of local families. It played both the association and rugby union codes.Cloptonson (talk) 06:40, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
- I note there is not yet an article on the Old Brightonians - googling Old Brightonians FC led me to the wiki article on Brighton College which does not yet mention the club at all.Cloptonson (talk) 06:44, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
- Pleased to see there is now an article on the club which was anyway based in London.Cloptonson (talk) 05:30, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
