support
[edit]how do these discs support such high definition with such little space (capacity per disc) and why is it not more widely used?
- They record the films in very high resolution at a much lower bitrate. They're not used in the West because other formats exist with copy protections in place. CVD, EVD et al are all popular in China, Japan, and other locations at one time or another, but never really get a hold out of their own specific locale.Lostinlodos (talk) 13:14, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
File list
[edit]I see the file list has just been restored. I fail to see the relevance, and it's certainly not encyclopaedic, as it just clutters the article. There is no such list as DVD or Blu-ray, so I will remove the section again unless someone can think of a justification for its retention. Regards, Oli Filth(talk|contribs) 19:46, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

And not to be confused with HD-VMD
[edit]Which is an even more obscure format from the UK, from the same period. Carewolf (talk) 22:37, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
