Notability of Sons of Admirals
[edit]- There have been a large amount of reversions of edits made about the band Sons Of Admirals and while the band is not particularly noteworthy, their cover of this song is, because it has helped increase the popularity of the song twofold, due to the amount of viewers the band members have on Youtube. Therefore, it would seem relatively logical to include their part in covering the song, in a concise sentence that does not exceed the boundaries of notability. Secondly, notability is partially decided by reliable sources. I provided what I believe to be a reliable source reference and therefore feel that it should be included in the article. - Are there any reliable third-party sources that say that the Sons of Admirals cover increased the popularity of the song twofold? Personally, I find the idea that these four boys made "Here Comes My Baby" twice as popular a little dubious, as it's already been around for ages—it's more than 20 years older that any of them. It's also been covered by about a dozen other acts, all of whom are more popular than this band. If any cover of "Here Comes My Baby" increased the popularity of the song twofold, it would surely have to be The Tremeloes version.
- Also, I'm not entirely sure that recordoftheday.com counts as a reliable source. What makes it reliable? Does it have editorial oversight? It didn't survive an AfD, as it was considered non-notable, if that counts for anything. Anyway, those are my thoughts on the matter. 92.8.253.172 (talk) 11:35, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
