Henry Topping (footballer born 1908)Harry Topping – - There are two people with articles, both footballers, with the formal name of Henry Topping. I would like to see this particular article renamed for Henry's most-common nickname, especially considering how inappropriate it is to have his birthdate in parentheses. Withdrawn - I actually think we need to consider other alternatives, as a Harry Topping article already exists. Granted, this article has a terrible name, so we need to evaluate this further. DarthBotto talkcont 09:57, 02 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Regardless of whether we use "Henry Topping" or "Harry Topping", a disambiguator will still be required as there are other individuals named Henry Topping and Harry Topping on Wikipedia. Why do you believe it to be inappropriate to include his year of birth in the article title? – PeeJay 16:13, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Suggest "Harry Topping" should be a dabpage for "Harry Topping (born 1908)" and "Harry Topping (born 1913)". "Henry Topping" should be a redirect to the new Harry Topping dabpage. The other possible solution is to decide what was more important and make him the primary topic, with a dab-hatnote for the other. Peterkingiron (talk) 18:33, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - the "born [date]" style is entirely appropriate (and used numerous times on Wikipedia) for disambiguating individuals with the same name and occupation. See WP:QUALIFIER. – ukexpat (talk) 16:01, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
