Was Henri Salvador of Jewish descent
[edit]The surname Salvador exists among others in the Caribbeans Sephardic Jewish community. It makes me curious as to whether Clovis was of Jewish descent.RichardBond (talk) 23:25, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
Without a doubt! Just look at him!210.185.169.49 (talk) 01:31, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
Actually, Salvador was the given name of his great-grandfather who was a freed (in 1833 at age 17) slave, turned into a family name for the next generation, so definitely not Jewish. Henri Salvador's genealogy is widely available at this point and easily checked now that the original records are digitized and published online by the Guadeloupe archives.
