Hassan Ali Khayre → Hassan Ali Khaire – The correct last name of this person is Khaire, not Khayre as the page title uses. His verified Twitter profile proves this (https://twitter.com/HassanAKhaire). Likewise, his verified personal Facebook page also uses the proposed 'Khaire' last name (https://www.facebook.com/HassanAliKhaire/). Furthermore, this Al Jazeera English article, and this World Bank article also use the proposed last name. Daljir (talk) 14:19, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
OpposeSupport There are as many sources that use Khayre, such as the US State Department [1], USAID [2], VOA [3], the EU [4] and World Bank [5]. Seems even the World Bank is inconsistent. I am not overly influenced by FB or Twitter accounts. I'd assume that diplomatic channels such as the State Department will be more of an authority for correct transliteration. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk- Speaking of official channels, the Office of the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia (which also happens to be Khaire's former office in the last three and a half years) also uses Khaire here, here, here, and here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Daljir (talk • contribs) 06:51, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
- The Somali government sources do have weight. The article should make clear, though, that both are common translitterations and we'd need redirects in place. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk
- Done. I have added the alternative transliteration.Daljir (talk) 08:32, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
