Thank you for nominating this article. Please fix disamb. links to Goshen, New York and Norfolk Southern Railroad. No. invalid external links.
- Is it reasonably well written?
- A (prose):
- "first station on the Erie Railroad Main Line." - first in time or first in the geographic sequence of stations?
- Please reword: "was replaced in 1911 with land donated by the widow of Edward Henry Harriman." - land cannot literally replace a station.
- "In 1847, Ezra Cornell of Ithaca and Hiram Sibley of Rochester worked to expand telegraphic communication through the New York and Lake Erie Railroad right-of-way with the Western Union Telegraph Company.[7]" - In 1847, Cornell and Sibley were still rivals, so this sentence is not literally true. Ezra Cornell did operate telegraph companies in upstate New York, including Ithaca and Buffalo. So I suggest that you need to double check whether Cornell had a telegraph line to Harriman or whether Sibley had one, or both. For example, see The Story of Telecommunications By George P. Oslin or Dorf, Philip (1952). The Builder, A Biography of Ezra Cornell.
- The book is no longer in my possession to check it. I had it for two weeks, when I wrote this and returned it to the library.Mitch32(Can someone turn on the damn air conditioning?) 23:38, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
- Think I fixed it.Mitch32(Can someone turn on the damn air conditioning?) 00:02, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
- "Turners Station" - should the s be there or is it apostrophe s?
- This has been an interesting problem, as Turner, Turners and Turner's have all been used. The town was called Turner, Turners was nearly as common, Turner's was not. I've run most of the article on Turner.Mitch32(Can someone turn on the damn air conditioning?) 23:38, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
- Please reword: "The engineer refused to take Minot's order, and instead, got into the cab car himself and drove the train himself to Port Jervis, hours ahead of the planned scheduled time of arrival.[10]" - The engineer is the subject of the sentence, but Minot drove the train.
- "the use of milk shipment by rail" -> "the use of rail to ship milk"
- "expand the strength of Minot's work.[9]" -> "expand Minot's use of telecommunications to control rail traffic." ????
- "French roof on top"->"[[Mansard roof]] on top"
- Please reword: "No materials to stop the blaze were available to staff to use" - too many "to"s. What do you mean by materials - means of fighting the fire?
- "The old one-story depot had a collapsing roof and structural supports.[14]" - does this mean that it was designed to collapse like an umbrella, or it collapsed due to bad design or maintenance?
- I just noticed I forgot this, fixed.Mitch32(Can someone turn on the damn air conditioning?) 23:51, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
- "with a full sized ceremony" - odd phrase in the sentence discussing the dimension of the new station.
- "revealed" ->"unveiled" ???
- "to rob the station and station agent at the Harriman Station."->"to rob the Harriman Station and its agent."
- "before reaching a verdict." please state which way the verdict went. "before reaching a verdict for the plantiff" ??? Is this the reason why so many lawyers have used the Harriman Station over the following years?
- "it was announced that the Interstate Commerce Commission was allowing the railroads to go forward with a merge"->"the Interstate Commerce Commission approved a merger of the railroads"
- The Conrail merger was more than a simple merger, it was created by the Federal Government.

- A. References to sources:
- Is it broad in its coverage?
- A. Major aspects:
- What happened to the right-of-way since the removal of the tracks and to the station property? Is it being considered for rails-to-trails?
- The Orange Heritage trail, which runs on part of the main line west of Harriman likely won't get that far.Mitch32(Can someone turn on the damn air conditioning?) 23:41, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
- Although not a GA criteria, coordinates are always appreciated.
- Won't be from me, I suck at coordinates and templates.23:41, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

- You add it, I'm no good with those templates.Mitch32(Can someone turn on the damn air conditioning?) 00:02, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

- Overall:
- Pass or Fail:
- This article represents significant work by its authors, but a few points need further work. Putting review on hold for you to address concerns. Racepacket (talk) 23:08, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
- Pass or Fail:
- I've responded and fixed everything but one that is a situation out of my control.Mitch32(Can someone turn on the damn air conditioning?) 23:38, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
- I fixed the ICC decision wording. (ICC orders were dated on their issuance not the date of the Commissioner's vote.) I have suggested coordinates above which you are free to use, but they are not a GA criteria item, so I am passing this article. Congratulations. I has been a pleasure working with you.
