Comments
[edit]- A few comments. Fighter ace is already wikilinked in the first sentence, so there is probably no need to say it again in the second sentence.
- The don't make me click rule had been pointed out to me on a number of A-class and FA-class reviews. And every time I had to add a sentence explaining what a fighter ace is. It would be strange to take it out at B-class and then to add it again at GA, A or FA-class. MisterBee1966 (talk) 08:10, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
- I apologise for making an unnecessary comment then.

- Early Biography. What happened before 1937?
- I don't know. MisterBee1966 (talk)
- If you can find in any of your sources anything on his early life, it really needs to go in biography.
- I agree MisterBee1966 (talk) 16:09, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

- Iron Cross. There is a "(1939)" I do not think is necessary. The 1939 type Iron cross is the only one he could get.
- Well, no I disagree. There is a big distinction between the 1813, 1870, 1914 and 1939 Iron Cross. Since a number of World War II soldiers at least received the 1914 version and the 1939 clasp, I feel that it is important to make it clear who received what. - Since he was born in 1916, the only Iron cross he could get was the 1939 one, but I take your point.

- Ace in a day. A little more detail would help. Where, what aircraft, in one or several sorties.
- I will see what I can find out MisterBee1966 (talk) 08:13, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
- Good work D2306 (talk) 13:26, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

- Note 2 needs fixing "but according to (?) he had achieved ..."
- Other than that, good.D2306 (talk) 22:22, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
More improvements I have thought about:
- Format the References section with {{cite book}} template
- Split "Biography" into subsections, like "Early life", "Early years of sevice", "Eastern front", "Death"D2306 (talk) 16:07, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
- Not sure, a one paragraph section is not advisable. MisterBee1966 (talk) 08:52, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
- You don't have to split into paragraph sized subsections. Articles about other German Aces, like Hartmann do have subsections. The section "Biography"(I think since the whole article is a biography the name of the section could be changed too) is too big in my opinions as a single bulk of text. If you are confident that this is unnecessary, leave it as it is.D2306 (talk) 15:19, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
- I renamed the section "Military career". For now I want to leave it as one section. MisterBee1966 (talk) 16:50, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
- Updated to B-class. Perhaps further improvements could be made with a peer reviewD2306 (talk) 12:08, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Possibly add a table
[edit]I created a table for his aerial victories that might look good in the article. You can change it around because it has some blanks if I couldn't find that info.
