"used to represent affirmation in East Asia, similar to its Western equivalent of the checkmark"
[edit]Is this true? For instance, http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-2521 seems to use the O mark for affirmation. Esumii (talk) 01:20, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, it's true. In many cases, 'O/X' means like 'T/F(True/False)' or 'Y/N(Yes/No)'.

- Sorry if I was unclear (and sorry also for my very late response!), but my question was whether such uses are limited to East Asia only, that is, whether they are not seen in "Western" cultures. (FYI I am a Japanese and quite used to such uses of the mark.) Esumii (talk) 05:07, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
