Hallett Cove Junction was the junction of the Port Stanvac railway (opened May 1963) and the Willunga railway. Hallett's Cove station (later "Hallett Cove") was beyond (to the south of) the junction; the Wikipedia map of the Willunga line, showing distances, is therefore wrong. A look at the old map shown on the "Willunga railway line" wikipedia entry clearly shows this point. For several years after the 1969 closure of the Willunga line, the original Hallett's Cove station continued to be used. The important point is that the stated 1970s Hallett Cove "rebuild" actually involved building a new station on the Port Stanvac line, just 100 metres down the hill from the Willunga line station of the same name. That then led to the closure of the stub of the railway between the Junction and the old Hallett's Cove station. Having switched the suburban passenger operations from the old Willunga line stub to the Port Stanvac branch, it was then possible to (later) extend services to a new station at Hallett Cove Beach (and beyond). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.129.52.124 (talk) 21:11, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
