[edit]This entry is poorly written. It seems the author is attempting to say that Iraqi authored an original takhreej to Ihyaa and then abridged it. The word takhreej needs an explanation not a simple attempt at translation. There are many other notable works by Iraqi that could have been mentioned in addition, for example his thousand word poem expaining hadith terminology. I am deleting the statement regarding the absence of 'false' hadith in Ihyaa as this is simply untrue. The exact statement I just removed from the text of the article is: [proving that there not a single false hadith in Ghazali’s work.] I picked up my copy of Ihyaa and, flipping through a few pages, happened upon a number of weak, daif hadith, one munkar hadith and another with a liar, kathaab, in its chain of narration - a strong indication that the hadith is fabricated and just before that a hadith Iraqi classified as La Asla lahu - no basis for it - meaning it is not a hadith at all having no source to qualify it as such. (This was found on page 325 of the first volume of the Dar al-Hadith printing from Cairo.) The word false could reasonably apply to a number of hadith classifications - Each of the above mentioned classiafications from daif to munkar could conceivably qualify for being 'false', maudu', fabricated and 'no basis' certainly so.
