[edit]So I'm a little unclear on if the transaction between NS and NJT has went through, but the references I include appear to state as much. According to this article that's been the plan since 2018, but it's a little unclear. Vipersage (talk) 23:02, 22 June 2023 (UTC)

[edit]@Kew Gardens 613 I don't think including the service frequency offends WP:NOTGUIDE; it's a fairly common feature of railway station articles. If there's an RfC that says we wouldn't do that I'd appreciate a link. Mackensen (talk) 16:07, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Pi.1415926535 and Epicgenius: I am not sure if there is one, but if there isn't, there should be one to clear things up. I think it makes sense to mention the lack of weekend service, but the specific number of trains seems like a bit much. Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 12:54, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- I appreciate where you're coming from, and I think the service level is relevant. Compare to the various Amtrak stations that see one train per day, or stations that see regular (hourly) service. I suppose we could write "multiple trains per day, some traveling via the Bootoon branch." Mackensen (talk) 13:13, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- It's worth noting if a station has significantly different service level from the rest of the line/system. In this case, I think a single sentence in the lede would be fine - something like
As of ABC, the station is served by X daily round trips – Y operating via the Morristown Line and Z operating via the Montclair-Boonton Line.
I don't think there's a need for a separate heading for service levels. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 14:02, 8 September 2024 (UTC)

- @Kew Gardens 613, thanks for mentioning this. I think including exact departure/arrival times is a violation of WP:NOTTIMETABLE. Depending on the context, service frequencies might or might not be; it's similar to including the destinations of the trains, which we do on nearly every article about a currently active train station. I would still be wary of including the exact number of trains, which can be subject to change, but it might be noteworthy if, like Pi says, the service frequency differs significantly from the rest of the line. – Epicgenius (talk) 14:04, 8 September 2024 (UTC)

- There is a question of WP:RELTIME. The exact frequency isn't likely to stay the same forever. Kire1975 (talk) 14:21, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
