Hi, I found an engraving of Henry L'Evêque, representing the disembarkation of the troops of Sir Arthur Wellesley in the first days of August, 1808. In this engraving there are a very good representation of the Donegal, as the author reports in his explication of the picture (in the first page of the book): http://purl.pt/13957/1/P37.html As I don't no to upload images, I hope that someone will see this and do it. Pardon my english. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.15.72.127 (talk) 20:32, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is a good representation of the disembarking of troops, albeit somewhat stylised. But the only vessel shown in any detail, the one on the far right of the picture, cannot be HMS Donegal. She has only two masts and is altogether far smaller than HMS Donegal. She is almost certainly one of the small transport craft used to land Wellesley's army in Spain. Though the plate is dedicated to Malcolm, it doesn't mean his ship is one of those pictured. Insofar as Donegal features in the print, it is probably as one of the larger ships glimpsed in the left background, riding in deeper water. Benea (talk) 19:42, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Good point. Thanks for the correction. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.25.249.223 (talk) 23:31, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
