Hōlualoa typos, error, and suggestion

[edit]

Thank you for the update that explains the Hōlualoa CDP boundaries here dranatically shrunk after the 2020 census. To make it better, may I offer: 1.Hōlualoa is spelled wrong in one place (Holualua). And can the kahako (line above the 'o') please be added in respect of our host culture? 2. The remaining portion of the CDP wasn't 'added' to Hōlualoa. It 'remained' or 'stayed'. The seaward half was taken out. 3. I don't have the skills, but could someone please update the map graphic to show the updated boundary polygon (still displaying the 2007 version) 4. Is it possible to mention the village of Hōlualoa? Our historic village is the primary geographic feature. Our US Post Office is zip 96725 (to get the geotag). 5. Hōlualoa CDP is no longer is 'coastal'. Could that tag/keyword be removed.

The name, the slide

[edit]

If memory serves, the name is from hōlua ("sled; slide, sled course") + loa ("long"), apparently in reference to a roughly mile-long slide along the volcanic hillside down to the water.

Could someone more knowledgeable than I add any related info to the article? ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 17:50, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
