[edit]

I moved this from Gyeonhwon to Gyeon Hwon shortly after creating the article, although "Gyeonhwon" is more common in English. As far as I know there is no WP precedent for compounding Korean family names and personal names into a single word like this, and contemporary two-syllable names like Taebong's founder "Gung Ye" are uniformly (within WP) given in two-word format.

Anyone think "Gyeonhwon" should be a single word? --Visviva 15:50, 23 Nov 2004 (UTC)

I think Gyeonhwon and Gungye are Wrong. Many Koreans treat Gyeon (or Jin) and Gung as family names. (PS: I'm a South Korean.) So far as I know, many old documents written in classical Chinese did it too.

Example: 弓궁王왕 大대闕궐 터희 烏오雀작이 지죄기니 -Jung Cheol(정철; 鄭澈, Jeong Cheol), Gwandong Byeolgok(관동별곡; 關東別曲; "the Special Tune of Gwandong") written in Korean language of Joseon Dynasty --yes0song 13:47, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
