Training a gun dog is a personal thing like raising children. There are many theories and what one person may believe to be perfectly correct, another may believe to be wrong. It will be difficult to assemble this page while keeping it NPOV. I ask that those who contribute make an extra effort to remember that there are many ways to do this.--Counsel18:54, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Do you really think that a Training gun dogs section is necessary in an article entitled Gun-dog training? All these training sections have to be rewritten to avoid them being how-to sections. The article is to explain training, not to explain how-to train. The last well-intentioned edit just goes into more how-to detail. I don't know much about this topic, but if no one cuts out the how-to and POV content, I'll have a go at it. Bob98133 (talk) 19:29, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I can recommend an expert on gundogs - Pippa Mattinson of the Gundog Club [1] who is a leading trainer in the UK and an author on the subject. I must declare an interest, though - she is my sister. Tony Holkham (talk) 00:25, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
