Not a foreign policy adviser to Obama

Craig is, indeed, a foreign policy advisor to Obama. An interview with him, where he is credited as such, and done when he accompanied the senator on the European leg of his recent trip, is available on BBC's website. Numerous other fully verifiable references to his role have appeared since before the primaries began.

But much more importantly, much of this page reflects attempts on right-wing sites to make Craig look like an attack dog for the left. (See, for instance, the National Review article of May 22, 2000) Craig's credentials as a lawyer are impeccable; he pleaded Hinckley's case before the Supreme Court and won; his defense of the rights of Elian Gonzales' father was - especially for those fathers who, like me, have had their children unlawfully moved to other countries - successful because it was right, both morally and legally; and his successful defense of Bill Clinton during the impeachment put an end to an appalling abuse of Congress' impeachment powers. The fact that Craig served as Chief of Staff for Secretary of State Madeleine Albright speaks for itself.

But these are interpretive answers to the implied slurs in the article. It should be edited by someone who is knowledgeable - and objective. According to CNN, he is leaving the post as of November 12, 2009 and will be replaced by Robert Bauer.[24] [2] CNN cites that he is being forced out because of his role in advising Obama to close Guantanamo Bay by January 2010, a task that cannot be achieved.[25]

I suggest to add a paragraph about this July 31, 2018 significant event. How about the draft paragraph below? Including sources.

On July 31, 2018 it was reported that Craig was referred by special counsel Robert Mueller to federal prosecutors for investigation in New York.

I suggest to add a paragraph about this April, 2018 significant event. How about the draft paragraph below? Including sources.

In April 2018 Craig resigned from the firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Allegedly following the indictment of Alex van der Zwaan. Who was a former attorney with the same firm. Zwaan pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI in the Mueller investigation.

Date of work with Yanukovych

Nowhere in this article does it mention when Greg Craig did the (alleged?) work for Viktor F. Yanukovych for which he is now being charged. This seems like an important piece of information, I just cannot figure out where to insert it. Missing negative

I think the above should read, “…decided not to pursue…” Wikijone (talk) 21:33, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
