National Roll of the Great War and 1915 battles
[edit]This publication accepted entries written by a member of the public, be they a participant in the war, or a relative of one of the war dead. Whilst the content is useful genealogical data, the submissions were not officially sanctioned, or verified. It is always worth cross-checking against other sources.
Whilst the entry for Ellison refers to a battle at Lens (Hill 70), and at Loos, both purportedly taking place in 1915, neither is a battle honour for his regiment. It appears it was provided by a family member, in good faith, but was incorrect. In due course, the mention of Loos in the infobox should be omitted. Keith H99 (talk) 17:50, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
