[edit]Shouldn't the article be merged with RKSP instead? --Soman 10:17, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
- No the RKSP and the Algemeene Bond were separate entities. Its like the difference between the Rooms-Katholieke Staatspartij and the Catholic People's Party, or to some extent the PvdV and the VVD. The leadership and ideology remained the same, while the name and the organization structure changed heavily. In the case of the RKSP/Algemeene Bond, this organizational change was very strong, from a loose club of independent catholic MPs, it became a "real" party, with strong social ties and party organization. Someday I will write the article for the Algemeene Bond. C mon 23:08, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Suggested move
[edit]I feel that the word "caucuses" is an odd one to use in this context: not only is it a specifically U.S. political term, and therefore misplaced in the context of Dutch party political history, but it doesn't even convey the true, and much broader, meaning of a kiesvereniging. If we must translate the titles of political parties in the names of articles (something I disagree with, but it seems to be current Wikipedia "policy") I propose that the article be moved to General League of Roman Catholic Electoral Associations. -- 23:56, 1 April 2014 (UTC)
