Does anyone know about how this song is constructed? With its A-B meter and swelling breaks, it seems to me to be a common musical song style. Gabefair (talk) 20:48, 18 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect

[edit]

User:Binksternet reverted this article on 15 September 2018 to a REDIRECT as it existed by User:Fram on 24 June 2014, the same day User:Coin945 had created it. This was the article then, this was the article before Binksternet's edit.

There are ten other articles about songs from West Side Story, and this article has been significantly expanded since 2015. It could do with more references, and how it influenced wider culture – e.g. how the title is used in newspaper headlines about youth crime, how it was omitted from student productions, its treatment in books about juvenile delinquency. Every review of the musical's production mentions this song, so I don't understand Binksternet's edit summary about non-notability, a point that Fram didn't make.

The proper avenue for notability concerns is AfD; REDIRECTing a well-formed article subverts that process. The article ought to be restored. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 04:34, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that it should be restored. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:57, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I restored it. Binksternet (talk) 16:18, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
