Gajals
[edit]As someone who is "supposed" to be of Gajal origin (according to Wikipedia) I think that this article should be deleted. Not only that Turks here don't call themselves Gajal, but also because it is actually used in Eastern Thrace/European Turkey NOT in the Balkans. Due to the late persecution of Ottoman Muslims, many ethnic Turks immigrated to Thrace. There, local Thracian Turks started to call themselves gajal to stand out from the newcomers. While Gajal is used in European Turkey, Manav is used in Anatolia, again with the same logic - Anatolian Turks trying to differentiate themselves from the Balkan Turkish migrants. They're both Turks and speak the same language - contrary to what is claimed in the article that we are Muslim Gagauz --Kessarevo (talk) 15:53, 23 February 2022 (UTC)
