Snakehead translation

[edit]

A powder being prepared in episode 9 is marked with a two-character label. The first character can be recognized as 孙 = grandson. The second is made up of 宀 + 八 + 工 (vertically) and didn't appear in the simple online dictionaries I tried. What does it mean? Wnt (talk) 06:22, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh... I just realized this is exactly the same two symbols that as a tattoo are shortly afterward said to stand for the Sun Hong triad. Wnt (talk) 06:30, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Production Code 121

[edit]

This is imply an unaired episode from season one. They broadcast several of the initial episodes out of filming order as well. This does not take place in the alternate dimension because There is only one Peter and he is in this dimension. Padillah (talk) 17:45, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unlisted episode Unearthed

[edit]

There is an unlisted episode on this page. It goes Episode 10: Grey Matters (12/10/2009), Episode 11: Unearthed* (1/11/2010), Episode 12: Johari Window (1/14/2010). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.85.192.97 (talk) 06:02, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Added Unearthed episode 211

[edit]

It still needs some more info like director and so on and i also renumbered episodes hope this is ok.

Consensus?

[edit]

A comment tells me this: "A consensus has already been reached as to this episode's number within the season. DO NOT CHANGE WITHOUT DISCUSSION"

Could you please point out the place where the consensus was reached? I couldn't find a discussion here or on Fringe (TV series). Thanks. --91.55.213.44 (talk) 21:31, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unearthed consensus

[edit]

I'm sorry but to continue to place Unearthed within season two is misleading, and raises quite a few questions while rewatching the episodes because of Charlie Francis' death. If you could make another section specifically for this episode it would make things a little less confusing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.161.112.45 (talk) 19:11, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

April Fool's Day Episode "TBA"

[edit]

This looks like a joke. There is a link to a source, but the source mentions no such episode. The "TBA" episode appears to be an April Fool's Day joke. If the source cannot be confirmed this really should be removed. I like a joke as much as the next person, but this one is in bad taste. Spoilers

[edit]

As a newb here, what is the process for adding "Spoiler" tags to a page such as this? As an avid fan, I was looking for something and didn't realize that un-aired episodes would be descibed. I would have apprecaited a 'heads up'. What is the process for having a "Spoiler Tag" put in there somewhere?

None. The argument is: If you look up information on a TV show, expect to find information on a TV show. Since we don't knwo what would constitute a spoiler for you (vs spoiler for someone else) there is no level of care we can reasonably take to ensure that others don't see what they don't want to see. So WP has decided to leave that up to you. If you don't want to see it, don't look. Padillah (talk) 18:57, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Release Dates

[edit]

Any idea for the NZ/Australian release date? 219.88.169.64 (talk) 01:41, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It got released later than this page lists if you look up Fringe (TV Series) as it was released 10 November 2010 in Australia. JB Hi-Fi Australia lists it as well as the other Wikipedia page. I'm not sure how many other sections need changing also. -Angeloz 123.2.138.148 (talk) 17:03, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unearthed on the DVD

[edit]

I made an alteration to the DVD details. The promotion for the DVD only has 22 episodes indicated. That's because the infamous "Unearthed" episode is not presented as a regular episode, but as a Special Feature at the end of Disc 6, so in context of the DVD it needs to be listed separately. (And this will probably renew the debate over whether it should be listed as a regular episode, but that's for others to argue out - I'm just concerned about the DVD release.) 68.146.81.123 (talk) 16:10, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Alter-Olivia

[edit]

isn't Fauxlivia the generally used name for Olivia's alternate? "Alter-Olivia" is kind of bulky. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.233.246.217 (talk) 00:48, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I believe it's the name referred to by the CC text. I can't say I remember vividly. Sorry. Padillah (talk) 18:54, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've seen Olivia's alternate referred to as "Bolivia" from the CC data. This has been mentioned (and frequently adhered to) on the popular "Television Without Pity" recap website. I honestly don't know why this was in the captioning to begin with, but thought I'd mention it. *Vendetta* (whois talk edits) 01:22, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

Should be the last review you need for that GT, so let's get working.

  1. Is it reasonably well written?
    A. Prose quality:
Nothing wrong here. I made a few fixes but the standard is grand. There's maybe a little too much quote manipulation going on, where you could maybe just paraphrase the intent of the quote without having to run it through hurdles with brackets and such.
    B. MoS compliance for lead, layout, words to watch, fiction, and lists:
Episode synopses are a bit on the long side. 4-5 lines is usually the standard. I've trimmed some of them a bit, but since I'm not really sure what is and isn't important it's been quite difficult. Feel free to revert if I've excised too much, though some of the later episodes do have very unwieldy summaries which need tightened.
  2. Is it factually accurate and verifiable?
    A. References to sources:
    B. Citation of reliable sources where necessary:
    C. No original research:
    Everything's sourced and cited well.
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. Major aspects:
    B. Focused:
Scope is grand, not too much or too little.
  4. Is it neutral?
    Fair representation without bias:
    Article is neutral.
  5. Is it stable?
    No edit wars, etc:
    Article is stable.
  6. Does it contain images to illustrate the topic?
    A. Images are copyright tagged, and non-free images have fair use rationales:
Two commons and a fair-use image. The DVD cover could maybe explain that it has been used as representative of the full season as no other singular image would achieve the same effect.
Done Ruby2010 comment! 01:06, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  1. B. Images are provided where possible and appropriate, with suitable captions:
Images are used well and captioning is grand.
  2. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:
I can pretty much see that this is heading to FA territory, so I'm going to keep it on hold to make sure those plot summaries are sorted out before I pass it here, which will give you less to worry about after this process. Everything else about the article is grand, so if that's tightened up this will pass with flying colours.
Thanks very much for the review! I've tried to trim down some of the longest plot summaries, but am having a difficult time going further. Some of the episodes are just too complicated to explain well in a shorter summary. How do they look now? Ruby2010 comment! 01:04, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That's the impression I was getting, which is why I found it hard to figure out what was important. I think 6 or 7 lines is forgiveable but is there anything in "Over There" (both parts" that could be cut? If anything's more of a minor plot thread or the like. I've had another bash at it myself. Some of it's really just about economy of words, but anything else I'm lost with. Is Bell's sacrifice made to be a big plot point? If not that sentence could probably come out. If it's not feasible to squeeze them some more then I'll just pass it straight. GRAPPLE X 01:48, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Did a little more trimming. Thanks, Ruby2010 comment! 02:55, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Looks a lot better now than it did. I'm going to go ahead and pass this. Well done, and congrats on getting the whole season promoted. Good luck with the GT! GRAPPLE X 03:08, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! :) Feel good knowing you passed the last in this topic Ruby2010 comment! 03:11, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
