Now that Daimler has sold Chrysler, does Chrysler still own Freghtliner, or did Daimler keep it??? In any case, this page needs to be updated, as DaimlerChrysler no longer exists.

Nope, Freightliner was purchased by Daimler-Benz in 1981, it had nothing to do with Chrysler until Daimler purchased Chrysler. Freightliner makes Daimler too much money to be sold off by Daimler anyway. ChocolateJew 02:51, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

LLC: Limited Liability Company (or Corporation), would be like putting INC. or LTD. or S.A. after every company/corporation article in Wikipedia. LLC's are basically a way to shelter the liability of the company for its owners (usually just a handful of stake/shareholders) from any major debts ("liability" i.e. whose liable) that might occur. ~ WikiDon (talk) 17:57, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

• Comment I agree with WikiDon: there should be a dab page Freightliner (disambiguation), and this page should be renamed Freightliner, as it is certainly the most notable sense of the word, and anyone wanting to read about Freightliner trucks is sure to simply type "Freightliner". Re-move

It is my intention/proposal to (re-)move this article to Freightliner Trucks or Freightliner (truck) (existing redirects). This is to distinguish the vehicle manufacturer (a division of Daimler AG) from a European rail-freight operator (Freightliner (UK))—and to restore the disambiguity page (at Freightliner (disambiguation)) to the bare "Freightliner" link. By turnover, the rail freight operator (a former division of British Railways) is about 1⁄50th of the size; however, the trucked-related use is US-centric; approximately one third of the incoming links appear to be railway related—I will do a first run-through to fix all the links, but the restored disambig can catch future misdirected links. The bold section in the lead currently uses Freightliner Trucks, so it may be more appropriate to move this to that variation. —Sladen (talk) 22:10, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Freightliner Sprinter no more?

The statement "The Freightliner badge also adorns the Sprinter, a Class 2 van produced by Mercedes-Benz in Europe and marketed through Freightliner dealers, as well as through Chrysler dealers as a Dodge-branded offering." may be incoorect/out of date.

The official Freightliner Sprinter website (put up 2004) at http://www.fl-sprinter.com/ no longer has any Freightliner Sprinter info. Instead it is a clone of http://www.z-atlas.com/ -- a medical website. Did they abandon or sell the domain name? There is no mention of the Sprinter anywhere on http://www.freightlinertrucks.com/ either. The Wayback machine at http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.fl-sprinter.com/ shows the last snapshot with Freightliner Sprinter info at July 5th 2008.

Worse. The Dodge Sprinter is defunct. In an attempt to avoid leaving the cargo van market completely, Ram now sells the "Ram Cargo Van" which is really a stripped down Caravan. Because of that, I have to wonder if Freightliner became part of the "new" Chrysler or remained with Daimler AG. Will (Talk - contribs) 07:04, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Daimler Trucks North America?

How come I'm being redirected from Daimler Trucks North America to Freightliner Trucks? The latter may be the most important part of the former, but it is far from the only one (Western Star, Thomas Built Buses, Detroit Diesel, ...)! I have removed the section in question for now since it implies an accusation that is mentioned nowhere in the cited sources and even if it was, I'm not sure the sources are reliable enough to not fall foul of WP:BLP.
