Some questions arise

• "The Rape-Master General" Nicknamed by whom, where?
• cashiered " by Parliament for accepting bribes. Nevertheless, he amassed a considerable fortune" What is the logic of "nevertheless" in this context?
• "Some sources say that he was a founder member of the Hellfire Club, although the famous club founded by Sir Francis Dashwood did not start to meet until 1743." "Some sources" are generally ill-informed: what does this sentence actually do here, aside from trashing the Hellfire Club??
• The pronunciation was "Charters" I believe. --Wetman 09:28, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
  • "The Rape-Master General" was a nickname used in the Popular press, at least, about him.
  • I don't see how it trashes the hell-fire club?
