The result of the move request was: page not moved, and Fox Sports as a (long) disambig. Closing after 54 days. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 14:55, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
Fox Sports (USA) → Fox Sports — Relisted. Vegaswikian (talk) 19:31, 28 April 2011 (UTC) Relisted. Vegaswikian (talk) 18:09, 21 April 2011 (UTC) There is no point in having a disambiguating term in parentheses if the primary title "Fox Sports" just currently redirects back here. Zzyzx11 (talk) 06:17, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
- Support: Nominator is correct; disambiguation is unnecessary. –CWenger (talk) 22:37, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
- Does anybody know how popular Fox Sports is in Australia? I think that would be the only competition for WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. –CWenger (^ • @) 00:36, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
- Comment there used to be a disambiguation page... 64.229.100.45 (talk) 03:59, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
- Comment When the disambiguation page was eliminated in favor of a dab hatnote at Fox Sports (USA), there were only two "Fox Sports" articles, Fox Sports (Australia) and Fox Sports (USA). Now we have (there may be more):
- Fox Sports Arizona
- Fox Sports (Australia)
- Fox Sports Bay Area a redirect to Comcast SportsNet Bay Area
- Fox Sports Carolinas
- Fox Sports College Hoops '99
- Fox Sports Detroit
- Fox Sports en Español redirect to Fox Deportes
- Fox Sports Florida
- Fox Sports Houston
- Fox Sports Indiana
- Fox Sports Kansas City
- Fox Sports Latinoamérica
- Fox Sports Midwest
- Fox Sports Net
- Fox Sports North
- Fox Sports Ohio
- Fox Sports Oklahoma
- Fox Sports Pittsburgh redirect to Root Sports Pittsburgh
- Fox Sports Radio
- Fox Sports Rocky Mountain redirect to Root Sports Rocky Mountain
- Fox Sports South
- Fox Sports Southwest
- Fox Sports Tennessee
- Fox Sports (USA)
- Fox Sports West and Prime Ticket
- Fox Sports Wisconsin
- Fox Sports World Canada
Plus the articles that don't start with "Fox Sports" such as:
It may be time for a disambiguation page again. --Bejnar (talk) 16:48, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose Actually, now that I have thought about it, this page should remain as is, and Fox Sports should be a disambiguation page again. Or if something has primary meaning in may be Fox Sports Net, not Fox Sports (USA). --Bejnar (talk) 21:34, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose. No indication that "Fox Sports (USA)" is the primary topic of "Fox Sports". Fox Sports should be turned into a disambiguation page. Jenks24 (talk) 15:01, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- Strong support It is clearly the primary topic. Take a look here at what links to Fox Sports and it is pretty obvious, especially in context when you go through and read those article links. Ng.j (talk) 01:45, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose. Classic case of US-centricity. But the nominator is right, it makes no sense for the undisambiguated name to redirect to one of the disambiguated articles. The quick cure is to move the DAB (back) to the undisambiguated name, but a better solution would be to have an overview article with a summary of all Fox Sports topics and {{main}} links to those with articles. Andrewa (talk) 15:03, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose FSN is the primary meaning of Fox Sports, not the division. 65.94.45.185 (talk) 09:49, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

Requested move 30 March 2019
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: Not moved, withdrawn. (non-admin closure) Iffy★Chat -- 10:27, 7 April 2019 (UTC)
– Except for Fox Sports Australia (which is placed under Foxtel, a joint venture between News Corp Australia and Telstra) and Fox Sports Latin America (soon to be sold), most of Fox Sports-branded operations are now in the hands of The Walt Disney Company. I don't know when will they rebrand to ESPN, but I'm sure the original Fox Sports operation in the United States will eventually take priority than those outside America. So I think it's natural to move Fox Sports (United States) to Fox Sports.
Also, any idea how the Fox Sports International article should be handled? JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 16:13, 30 March 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose as too soon for now. I suggest we wait until Disney and the other parties actually re-brand all the channels first, and all the articles on the other channels are moved accordingly first. It is only been a couple of weeks since the acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney, and the process of re-branding has been slow. We should not automatically assume that Fox Sports (United States) is now the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC solely because the acquisition recently occurred. As far as the public is concern as of today, all these channels still have the Fox Sports brand. WP:COMMONAME and WP:OFFICIALNAME still apply. We should not jump the gun beforehand. Zzyzx11 (talk) 19:23, 30 March 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose as WP:TOOSOON and maybe never In ictu oculi (talk) 22:58, 30 March 2019 (UTC)
- Comment: I guess you are right. I'll decline this request for now. By the way, How do I close this discussion myself? JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 08:59, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
