Should this Article be Titled 'Foothill' or 'East Bench'?
[edit]I changed the naming of this neighborhood of Salt Lake from East Bench to Foothill because I have lived in SLC area my entire life, and the reason I changed the naming is that the East Bench term is so broad, it can refer to any East side community including; Millcreek, Holladay, Sandy and Draper. And even the east side communities in Bountiful and Provo. Foothill is the term I have always known and used to describe the area in this article, and it is much more specific to that area. Foothill clearly seems more appropriate to me. But based on a disagreement, I would like to know other opinions on the name of the neighborhood. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Argyleist (talk • contribs) 14:06, 1 April 2008
- The problem with changing the title of this article to 'Foothill' is that 'East Bench' redirects here. If you are not going to include anything south of I-80, you need to create a new article for the 'East Bench' that includes the southern portion of the eastern shelf of the Salt Lake valley. Until then, this article is the only reference to the entire East Bench, which includes Foothill, but is not limited to it. Until the East Bench is separated from this article, I am changing the name and description back to include the entire eastern area of the SLC valley. --Jack Autosafe (talk) 23:35, 10 January 2016 (UTC)

Foothill, Salt Lake City → East Bench, Salt Lake City – "East Bench" has been merged with "Foothill," but Foothill is the northern part of the East Bench. Foothill is a subset of East Bench. The entire area is known as the East Bench. The article should be titled "East Bench." Please move this article to East Bench so it will be correct. - Comment why don't you just create a new article for East Bench? -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 06:15, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
