Suggested move

Looking at various articles in Category:Fires, I see that the most common naming pattern is "<year> <place> fire". For the sake of consistency, I propose that this article be moved to 1850 Kraków fire. — Kpalion^(talk) 14:50, 31 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Per going standard, I would call this the Kraków Fire of 1850, see: San Francisco Fire of 1851 (or alternatively, Fire of 1850 in Kraków). There were other fires, like the first noted fire of 1125. See: Kraków od A do Z by Jan Adamczewski, Krajowa Agencja Wydawnicza, 1980 and the fire of Wawel on April 10, 1500 (ibidem). Polish Wiki also lists fires of 1241 and 1285. It is commonly known that the city was severely affected by the Partitions, with all services underfunded. But most importantly, this is a general knowledge article meant to provide information for readers who might not have extensive knowledge about the city's history. Krakow is not an Austrian city, and Austrians don't live in Krakow. The only reason why it became part of the Austrian Empire were the Partitions of Poland.
