Fauci → Fauci (surname) – Surname page with precisely two subjects, one of whom I would venture to say is (now) the clear primary topic of the term. I had initially thought to delete this, but I suppose some etymological information might be found to add to this as a surname page. In any case, move this title to redirect to Anthony Fauci. - Strongest possible oppose based on that rationale. Wikipedia is WP:NOTNEWS and a particular individual who is only recently in the public arena significantly is antithetical to our long-term management of this encyclopedia. This is not an appropriate use of a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT as no one addresses this person as simply "Fauci". Please stop letting the moral panic surrounding this pandemic affect good judgement. I suggest withdrawal. -- Netoholic @ 19:03, 9 April 2020 (UTC)
- If you look at the surname page, there is literally ONLY ONE other person on English Wikipedia with that name at all. And: one is very, very prominent around the world right now – and one who readers are very, very often searching for (and have been, even way before the pandemic). Paintspot Infez (talk) 22:57, 9 April 2020 (UTC)
- WP:NOTNEWS in this context is intended to apply to those who may be experiencing a temporary bout of publicity, and will later fade into a level of obscurity comparable to other topics with that name. However, this pandemic will never be forgotten, and Fauci's prominent role in leading the response will always be a significant element of it. BD2412 T 03:07, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
- Now you're WP:CRYSTALBALLing. And no one has addressed my point that this person is not in general use ever referred to as just "Fauci" in the way that, say, Einstein is. It just his last name, and even if he's the most prominent topic with that name, its still not a WP:MONONYM in use, and so not an appropriate WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT. -- Netoholic @ 13:14, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
- Literally the entire first page of Google News hits is an entire page of headlines addressing the subject as just "Fauci":
- Antibody tests for the novel coronavirus could be available within 'a week or so,' Fauci says
- Fauci: Coronavirus immunity cards for Americans are 'being discussed'
- Fauci: Administration discussing coronavirus immunity certificates
- Coronavirus and warm weather: Fauci says 'one should not assume' virus will fade away
- Fauci Says U.S. Coronavirus Deaths May Be 'More Like 60,000'; Antibody Tests On Way
- Would you agree that this subject is being referred to as just "Fauci" in these headlines? BD2412 T 18:26, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
- News headlines often have to make use of limited space to get their points across, and what you've done is just WP:CHERRYPICK a few. WP:TITLES is about how the subject is introduced in sentence form, and every single one of your examples introduces him as "(Dr.) Anthony Fauci", not using a WP:MONONYM. -- Netoholic @ 20:31, 11 April 2020 (UTC)
- If your goalpoasts are going to keep moving, than there is no point in presenting evidence. The closing administrator can disregard your opinion as easily as you disregard the evidence that refutes it. BD2412 T 19:08, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
- Your standard (newspaper headlines) is ridiculous on its face because if we would never apply it to thousands of celebrities and politicians who are likewise often referenced by last name in them. --Netoholic @ 14:17, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
- Okay then, show me a headline referring to a different Fauci, any other Fauci, as a mononym. BD2412 T 15:11, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

- Strong support Fauci is also well known as a presidential adviser since the Reagan administration and his response to the HIV/AIDS crisis in the late 80's was also significant. His lasting significance is obvious. Doing a google books search on "Fauci" even excluding books where he is an author, makes it crystal clear that he was the primary topic long before the novel coronavirus existed. buidhe 22:03, 9 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support per nom. While I'm often reluctant to call something a primary topic for a name, the primary here is evident. If you look at the surname page, there is literally ONLY ONE other person on English Wikipedia with that name at all. - Comment - for what it's worth, there are at least 5 additional individuals with the surname Fauci in Wikidata. Most of them have wiki pages in Italian. I have no comment on if they would meet enWiki notability requirements. TJMSmith (talk) 01:39, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support per nomination. On the basis of the comment directly above, I just interwiki-linked the English Wikipedia Fauci page with the Italian Wikipedia Fauci page and the only person listed there is Anthony Fauci. Once the English page is moved to Fauci (surname), I will leave to others the decision whether this interwiki link should remain. On German Wikipedia, Fauci has been a redirect to Anthony Fauci since his entry's creation in April 2011 (English Wikipedia's entry was created in November 2004). —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 03:20, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
- If this is moved and we only have one other article with the name Fauci I’m not sure we even need the Dabpage since a hatnote would suffice.--69.157.252.96 (talk) 06:26, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
- Yeah, but it's a surname page and not just a dab page. it might be helpful to keep the surname page which could be expanded with the history/origin of the surname. Paintspot Infez (talk) 21:05, 10 April 2020 (UTC)

" dangerous animal " like a wolf or a lion !!!
Please make sure the people giving you info are real Italians or can spell properly !!!! 206.226.65.37 (talk) 18:10, 16 December 2021 (UTC)
- If you can provide a reliable source that supports that claim, the article can be revised. However, Wikipedia doesn't accept original research. clpo13(talk) 18:53, 16 December 2021 (UTC)
