OVERALL REVIEW

After thoroughly reading this article, I have decided to put this article on hold. I generally have seven days to allow you to fix the mistakes I have written or debate the ones you don't believe affect good article status, unless you state that you need more time to fix the issues or you are busy at the moment. Here are the main issues that are keeping this article from good article status:

  • Prose quality: The prose quality needs some work. With all of the mistakes listed below, it is affecting how the article flows and the quality of the article itself.
  • Citation of reliable sources where necessary: There are many times in the article where details do not have sources to back up the information listed.
  1. Is it reasonably well written?
    A. Prose quality:
    B. MoS compliance for lead, layout, words to watch, fiction, and lists:
  2. Is it factually accurate and verifiable?
    A. References to sources:
    B. Citation of reliable sources where necessary:
    C. No original research:
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. Major aspects:
    B. Focused:
  4. Is it neutral?
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. Is it stable?
    No edit wars, etc:
  6. Does it contain images to illustrate the topic?
    A. Images are copyright tagged, and non-free images have fair use rationales:
    B. Images are provided where possible and appropriate, with suitable captions:
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:

Infobox
  • References are not needed in Infobox if information is put in article
  • Genre needs to be sourced by having cited source in article
  • Reference not needed for label if stated in article with source
  • List full names of writers and wiki-link if necessary
Lead
  • "...lead single from the hip hop duo Bad Meets Evil..." - Remove "the" to make sentence flow better
  • "...composed of Royce da 5'9" and Eminem..." - Put "by" instead of "of"; composition should be separate sentence
  • "The song was released May 3, 2011." - State what record company released it; Put release in "Background" section as well and then it won't need citation in lead
  • "The single was produced by Eminem, Supa Dups,[3] and Jason "JG" Gilbert.[4]" - Put producers in "Background" section as well and then it won't need citation in lead
  • "Texas rapper Chamillionaire released a remix of this song on May 8, 2011.[5]" - Does not need citation because it is already in "Remixes" section
  • "A music video was shot in mid-May..." - Specify what year
  • "...by director James Larese of Syndrome." - Briefly specify what "Syndrome" is
  • "They music video features..." - Change "They" to "The"
  • "Fans and critics considered it a return to Eminem's 'Slim Shady' alter ego.[6]" - Does not need citation if cited in "Critical reception" section
  • "The lyrics were also very well received." - Not necessary in "Lead" section
  • "...with American record producer and D12 rapper Mr. Porter.[9]" - Citation not necessary in lead
Background
  • Much of first paragraph does not cite any sources
  • "Recorded a few months before its release,[4]" - Put reference at end of sentence
  • "Supa Dups was responsible for drum programming and arrangement.[11] JG and Luis Resto are credited for keyboards.[11]" - Not needed in this section
  • "He said that "[They] didn't even have Eminem in mind [when they made the beat]." - Needs reference
  • Third paragraph - When a person who is being quoted is quoting another person use ' (single quote) instead of " (double quote)
  • "Later, on April 28, when the song..." - Use something besides "Later"; specify year
  • Much of fourth paragraph does not cite any sources
Critical reception
Music video
  • "The music video began shooting on May 13, 2011 in Southwestern Detroit[17]..." - Should standalone as one sentence
  • "...and was directed by James Larese of collective group Syndrome,[18] a group that also directed videos for two other Eminem songs: "3 a.m." and "Crack a Bottle"." - Should standalone as one sentence; put reference 18 at end; needs source at end to verify other videos he directed
  • "...which shows the part of the video during the first time the chorus plays, confirming Sly Jordan's appearance in the video and the use of cartoon animation. - Needs reference
Live performances
  • "...which took place at the Great Stage Park in Manchester, Tennessee." - Not needed
  • "...accompanied by his hypeman Mr. Porter of D12 and performed wearing a black Bad Meets Evil t-shirt, under a black hoodie." - Needs reference
  • "The duo's performance was complimented by the "Fast Lane" music video playing in the background." - Needs reference
  • Expand the section with more live performances of the song
Remixes

Since all of the issues have been addressed, I feel confident passing this article to good article status. Good work and keep expanding the article with more information. - Rp0211 (talk2me) 02:06, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
