Merge
[edit]There are 4 coasters that are nearly identical.
- Woodstock Express (Kings Island)
- Woodstock Express (Carowinds)
- Ghoster Coaster (King's Dominion)
- Ghoster Coaster (Canada's Wonderland)
The only 2 articles still existing is this one and Ghoster Coaster (Canada's Wonderland), the others have been deleted.
I suggest merging these 4 coasters into one article with their own sub section.--Nickvet419 (talk) 12:28, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
- Since the ride names are different, what would you propose to call this merged article? Themeparkgc Talk 21:59, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
- Great question. I wonder if it at least has a model name like Suspended Family Coaster--Nickvet419 (talk) 04:11, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
- If it did have a model name and the coasters were identical then that would be great. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that they are identical (similar yes, identical no). After doing a bit of research I have discovered that Ghoster Coaster at Canada's Wonderland is taller than the other 3 and was designed by Curtis D. Summers. The other 3 were designed by John C. Allen but their lengths differ slightly. It also appears there are other similar coasters (e.g. [1], [2], and [3]). I might ask JlACEer (talk · contribs) to join this discussion as they might have some more information to contribute in regards with this. Themeparkgc Talk 06:57, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
- I would not be in favor of consolidating those pages. I found three pages (the Ghoster Coaster (Kings Dominion) page still exists). Not only are the names different and the builders (Canada's is not a PTC), the lengths and heights are slightly different. I think there is enough history about each to warrant its own page. The name (and color) changes alone over the years could fill a page. Plus you have the fact that KD's opened a year before the park did. KI's was the start of the Taft/KECO Jr. Woodies at theme parks, and that was the first that eliminated the curving station of the previous PTC Jr. Woodies. Plus as Themeparkgc mentioned there are other PTC Jr. woodies that are similar to these. Should they all get lumped into one page? Is there any way that I can see the original Kings Island entry, or is it lost?JlACEer (talk) 15:16, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for your input JlACEer. Here, I brought back Woodstock Express (Kings Island) if you could add the information to make it a notibal article. thanks--Nickvet419 (talk) 19:06, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
- I added as much information as I could dig up. Hopefully it's enough to keep it as its own page.JlACEer (talk) 21:07, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
