Move request
[edit]I see J Delanoy is moving these as I type - and I agree WP:NCMAC requires it. In any case, this same issue is being discussed at length on Talk:Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. Even if there is some reason (and I can't imagine what it would be) to treat them differently, please discuss there. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 21:09, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
Proposed merge with Viktorija Loba
[edit]Following advice and suggestions at a recent AfD in regards to another Junior Eurovision artist (Eliias), it has been recommended that all JESC biographical articles be merged into their respective country by year articles. This is so we avoid future WP:AfDs, WP:SPEEDY, and WP:NOTREPOSITORY. The content the BLP article can easily be explained in the context of this country by year article, and it is currently of a reasonable size that the merging of BLP article will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. How would we request a link when there is not even a page for the other singer of the duo Marija Arsovska and Viktorija Loba? --PootisHeavy (talk) 19:53, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
- @PootisHeavy: unfortunately, the article has to be merged now per #9 WP:MUSICBIO after a community-wide consensus which resulted in bio articles having to be merged, which states that a bio article should only be created if they have won first, second or third place in a major music competition (or if they were already notable prior to the contest). It is because of the conflicting policy WP:BLPNAME which prevents child-bio articles, unless the child is highly notable for whatever reasons. Ideally, Viktorija Loba would become merged into Macedonia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2003, which as you can probably gather due to the red link, had yet to be created. That is why all the bios for the 2015 JESC have been redirected into their respective country articles, with only the top-3 placings being turned into stand-alone articles after the contest. Rules are rules I'm afraid. Wes Mouse ✒ 23:47, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
