War service
[edit]'He enlisted in the armed forces at the outbreak of the World War I in 1914, allegedly hoping to be assigned to a Scottish regiment because he wanted to wear a kilt, but was wounded in the field and sent home.'
Slightly non-sequitur. What regiment was he in, and which battle was he wounded at? Unless he actually served in a Highland unit, the kilt business seems not very encyclopedic. Valetude (talk) 14:06, 21 December 2013 (UTC)

Needlework, war wounded and suffragettes
[edit]This user is new to Wikipedia. Please assume good faith, remain civil, and be calm, patient, helpful, and polite while they become accustomed to Wikipedia and its intricacies. |
A new book (see citation 3 ISBN 9781473687912) has 3 pages on Thesiger's role in needlework, starting in his war service and after assisting disabled soldiers with this, and involved in women's suffrage movement, later Vice Patron of the Embroiderers Guild. Are there any other sources for the Disabled Soldiers' Embroidery Industry? Is it Edbury Street or Ebury Street?

Parents?
[edit]It names his grandfather, uncle and cousin, but not his parents. Who were they? Valetude (talk) 08:15, 1 August 2020 (UTC)
