Criticism comes too short
[edit]I would even say this series warrants a lawsuit because it discriminates Parisians and puts them in a totally wrong light. Imagine a series contained all possible clichés about black people... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.253.186.62 (talk) 07:08, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
- Plus season 2 managed to piss off Ukranians enough that the Ukranian Minister of Culture is making noises about suing them or something. See eg https://focus.ua/lifestyle/501702-my-ne-petry-za-chto-ukrainki-obidelis-na-emili-v-parizhe (note: good sources on the backlash to the second season are hard to find, because much of the backlash is for obvious reasons not in English, and there were surface-level fixes to the problems season 1 had). In general though I've got to say I agree with the above commentator; the series is notable almost exclusively because of the controversies around it. If it wasn't so confusingly racist, or if nobody noticed how confusingly racist it was, it would just be another forgettable romantic comedy. Gazeboist (talk) 01:19, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
- There must be a magical part of Paris analogous to Diagon Alley that is inaccessible to those of us who find it a disturbingly provincial and tragically racist anachronism. Have you ever sat down to lunch with a group of Somali taxi drivers in Paris and talked to them about what they have to put up with? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:6AE5:2510:0:0:0:46 (talk) 20:12, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
This show is extremely demographically targeted (even more so than Sex and the City) and if you're not part of that target demographic you're going to find it silly, offensive, shallow etc. Some TV just isn't made for a general audience. --Ef80 (talk) 16:04, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
Episode summaries
[edit]Is there any reason some episode summaries are missing? I could have a go at it even if it means rewatching the series! Leoseliv (talk) 15:01, 30 May 2021 (UTC)
Possible conflict of interest with producer of the show editing this article
[edit]On November 11, 2021 user User:Sjoelbrown edited this page to have the name Stephen Brown link to the Stephen Brown (film producer) biographical page. Considering this username and the fact that the only contributions this user makes are in regards to the Stephen Brown (film producer) page, it appears that the film producer himself could be making these edits. This is strongly discouraged by Wikipedia and the user was already warned of this by User:331dot on June 9, 2016 but continued making edits afterwards.
