Images
[edit]I plan on removing the images since they are not inline with Wikipedia:Manual of Style#images. Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style#Images, the commons link might be sufficient since the images are the focal point instead of the text. Please redo image placement or utilize them when content warrants so many.Cptnono (talk) 07:41, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
- For the style, was the problem having pictures left aligned at the start of a section? I have re-added a picture that is right aligned to gameday. This image gives a visualization of what ECS has done on a gameday. Yukata Ninja (talk) 23:45, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
- I have done some fiddling. I added the 2008 @ Qwest one under history. This might work well in the Songs section but there wasn't enough room (good excuse for some expansion). I swapped the inaugural game one based on a personal preference. The stuff on the field seemed distracting. Feel free to change it. It doesn't fit perfectly since the text is a little short but I figured it was close enough.Cptnono (talk) 23:32, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Sources
[edit]I am removing the following sources but assume the information is available elsewhere. Examiner.com is not a reliable source. Removed:
- "Emerald City Supporters reveal opening match plans for Sounders FC blast-off http://www.examiner.com/x-413-Seattle-Soccer-Examiner~y2009m3d12-Emerald-City-Supporters-reveal-opening-match-plans-for-Sounders-FC-blastoff
- "The Pub's the place when Sounders are away or sold out" http://www.examiner.com/x-413-Seattle-Soccer-Examiner~y2009m4d8-The-Pubs-the-place-when-Sounders-are-away
This blog entry: "Seattle Speaks: The Case for the Sounders" http://pitchinvasion.net/blog/2008/03/30/seattle-speaks-the-case-for-the-sounders/?d3c746a0 was also removed Also am not sure if this is RS. Assuming not but thought I would ask for feedback before removing:"Seattle vs. Los Angeles US Open Cup August 27, 2003 http://goalseattle.com/Aug27PodPics.htm Cptnono (talk) 08:01, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
- I agree on the removal of the above blog sources. The photo [1] on the page [2] is used to support the creation of the name Emerald City Supporters. Does a picture count as a reliable source if it is on a blog? Yukata Ninja (talk) 06:11, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
- That is another licensing question. If it meets the licensing requirments it is fine. Check out: MOS:IMAGES for the basics. The "tutorial" (my favorite even though some of the uses are not inline with actual guidelines) and the "image use policy" links there will give you tons of info. And images do not need to be sources so take a few shots next game and upload them to the commons. [3] [4] [5] Cptnono (talk) 06:44, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
Sub groups
[edit]This section seems like it is divided into too many short subsections. Would a table or maybe even prose work? It also needs better sourcing.Cptnono (talk) 23:33, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed. Another option would be to just bold the subgroup names rather than making them headings. This way the appearance would be similar to what it is now, but the TOC would not be bloated as it is now. Also agree that more references are needed for these. --SkotyWATC 07:05, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- The sub group section is disproportionately large. Sub groups are only one aspect of the ECS and should not take up the majority of the wikipedia page. Some of these groups are not even recognized on the ECS website.(Chilcokr (talk) 12:00, 5 March 2012 (UTC))
- I agree with all this. It was too big. I can talk within the ECS, because I'm actually an official member. Also the President of it's midwest sub-group the Heartland Horde. (EmeraldCitySupporter (talk) 20:17, 19 March 2012 (UTC))
