Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because <There are many articles that not supposed to be here, and Elisha is succesful in Israel, just like a lot of articles in English wikipedia that has nothing to do with Americans. Beside, you can't Deny the fact he is part of Banai family.>. — Naama A (talk) 20:00, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
- The existence of other articles that break the rules does not allow you to break the rules. Just because there are people who murder others does not mean its okay for you to do too. Every biographical article must have proper references - see WP:BLP. Articles must also demonstrate the notability of the subject. Since this article does not do that, it is liable to be deleted. - I think you should wait before you delete it. In a month people will start to talk about him in America. He and is band also performing around the world, and in America. Naama A (talk) 20:22, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
- Its nothing to do with whether he's playing in America, though. Its about whether you can provide proper independent, published sources to both verify the content and show this band meets Wikipedia's [{WP:GNG|guidelines on notability]]. Please read these rules to understand how Wikipedia works. If you think you will have the sources in a month, you can recreate the article (assuming its deleted) then. Thanks, Sparthorse (talk) 20:28, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

I have removed the speedy deletion tag because it does not apply. I added [1] as a reference but am unsure if that alone will enable Banai to pass the GNG. It may be worth considering moving the article to The Forty Thieves (band) and rewriting from that perspective if there are enough sources or AfDing the article. - Actually, db-band does apply: from the speedy notice itself:"...an article about a band, singer, musician, or musical ensemble...", so db-band does apply to individual singers. Either way, thanks for adding the reference. It may be enough to demonstrate notability. Sparthorse (talk) 23:00, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, my mistake. Apologies. Goodvac (talk) 23:09, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
