Accuracy
[edit]This article is not accurate, and very outdated. It seems that the text was written in 1888 and has been copied and pasted word for word: in 1873 [Edward Morley] was called to fill a similar chair in Cleveland medical college, both of which places he now (1888) fills; and It is anticipated that his studies in collaboration with Albert A. Michelson (completed in 1887) will lead to important conclusions regarding the luminiferous aether and its effects upon the velocity of light.
- Oh wow, that's pretty awful. I'll try and synthesize a more up-to-date article from some new (this century?) sources. CapeCodEph 22:37, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- This is the worst article I've ever seen on wikipedia (an 1888 source? Utterly shameful) and needs to be replaced _now_ by an up-to-date version written by a current physicist or historian of science. Until then the entire text should be deleted. Jmeltzer 23:37, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
- I've returned it to the state it was on 22 January 2006. That was the last encyclopedical entry. Errabee 13:39, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

Update Chemistry Section
[edit]I have added to the Chemistry Research section, including adding an external link with a reference for Morley's chemical research, and Wikilinked to the ACS National Historic Chemical Landmarks program.
