Separation
[edit]Does Little Edie's bio have to be on Big Edie's page? Good God, wasn't that poor woman enmeshed ENOUGH with her mother when she was alive, does she have to be enmeshed with her on Wikipedia too?
From what I understand, it was Big Edie's father that cut her off financially but some one told me that it was her brother Black Jack Bouvier who ended up with the money and never helped his sister and neice. They mentioned they had read a newspaper article about it. If anyone has information about this please let me know. 70.232.51.67 (talk) 22:22, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
Rooms
[edit]According to the entry on Grey Gardens, the house was 14 rooms not 28. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.253.4.21 (talk) 19:21, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- At the time Big Edie owned the mansion in its original state, the rooms were numbered at 28. However, since the renovation and new ownership, the Bradlee-Quinns have stated the house has currently only 14 rooms. Thus the confusion. Maineartists (talk) 14:56, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
External Link Suggestion
[edit]I added a link to this page and it was subsequently deleted.
The link is to the Grey Gardens Discussion Group & Message Board (www.ggdiscussion.com).
It is not a commercial site, and is the only site on the Internet where fans of the Grey Gardens documentary can go to discuss this film with other fans. A link to this relevant, informative website deserves to be included in this Wikipedia page.

- Please see WP:EL which lists discussion/forum/blog sites as inappropriate links. I have removed this link again per those guidelines. - Special-T (talk) 05:34, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
Clean-up
[edit]This article is in serious need of clean-up. The facts presented are not only misleading and bias, (linking other subjects that should not be included with this subject) but in most cases: incorrect. Furthermore, the lack of reliable sources and inline citations make it read more like an article that has been independently researched. I will be adjusting much of this article with the appropriate inline citations and reliable resources to better honor the article's subject within the upcoming weeks. Maineartists (talk) 14:27, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
- Since Edith Ewing Bouvier Beale was a known recluse and very little was published regarding her directly that could be used as a reliable source, much of the content in this article is either knowledge passed down through time via cult following, independent research or primary sources directly linked to the subject. Unfortunately, in adhering to the guidelines at Wikipedia, the rules and regulations prevent allowances for keeping much of the lines in this articles currently included, even with the reliable sources gathered for clean up. Until these inclusions can be supported with reliable sources not directly associated to the subject through independent research, they must remain absent; otherwise, "citation needed" tags will be littered throughout. Thus making a poorly written article. In dealing with a subject such as this, less is more. Maineartists (talk) 14:23, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
Parents removed from info-box
[edit]Hi Keivan.f! Recently you removed "parents" from the infobox without any edit summary explanation: [1] It is necessary when deleting content from an article to supply at least some reason for doing so. Could you supply some here? Thanks! Maineartists (talk) 12:57, 17 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Maineartists: Hi. Thanks for reminding me. Actually, I should have included an edit summary but it seems that I simply forgot to do it. The reason is that per Template:Infobox person#Parameters the names of her parents have to be removed as they are not independently notable. Keivan.fTalk 03:08, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
Needs more sources
[edit]The article needs more sources and has been tagged accordingly. I have removed a bunch of unsourced material and added a few sources. SunCrow (talk) 05:46, 4 May 2019 (UTC)
Image
[edit]The image you’ve placed as Edith is actually Edie, her daughter. Or “Little Edie.” Please edit. Canamerlin (talk) 02:33, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. I tried to undo it; but the original photo that has been there of the subject for as long as I can remember has been deleted for whatever reason. Will have to find another photo of the subject to upload to appease the WP sticklers. Maineartists (talk) 00:43, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
