Edgar J. ScherickEdgar Scherick — Subject was more familiarly known without his middle initial. Please check the NYT obituary external link at the bottom of this article for proof. The Ink Daddy! (talk) 20:19, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Anonymous IP reverted legitimate edit

[edit]

An anonymous IP reverted a legitimate edit I made regarding Mr. Scherick’s awards. While material he was involved with was nominated for Oscars and Golden Globes, he himself never won any. There is no mention of his winning either award in the New York Times article used as a source. Please do not revert the change again unless you have proof that Edgar Scherick, the man, received an Academic or Golden Globe Award. PacificBoy 08:37, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edgar Scherick won an Emmy in 1984 for "Outstanding Children's Program" as Executive Producer for "He Makes Me Feel Like Dancin'. That film is unique, as at the time it was the only one to win both an Emmy and an Oscar. "He Makes Me Feel Like Dancin,'" produced by Edgar J. Scherick Productions, with Edgar credited as Executive Producer, won the Academy Award for Best Documentary in 1983. According to Academy rules, only the listed "Producer" (not Executive Producer) qualifies for a Best Picture award. Also, Edgar was a Nominated for a Global Globe Award in 2003 for Best Picture for the film "Path to War" where he served as Producer. In 1997, Edgar was awarded the Producer's Guild of America Lifetime Achievement Award in Television. 108.6.33.33 (talk) 01:37, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
