Page move request notification

[edit]

I have posted a listing at Wikipedia:Requested_moves/Technical_requests#Contested_technical_requests for this article to be restored to its original namespace of Ederney as that is the official name of the village in contrast to the 2013 undiscussed page move based on an incorrect view. EdernyEderney – The correct and official name for this village is Ederney, which is confirmed by this. It clearly states: The townland name from which the village derives is Ederny but the official spelling of the village has been Ederney since 1992.. A redirect already exists at Ederney pointing to Ederny so I can not simply move the page. Whilst it would seem an uncontroversial move, the article originally stood at Ederney since its creation back in January 2006 until it was moved undiscussed back in February 2013 by @Asarlaí: who cited: this is the official and most popular spelling, without providing any evidence and which going by the above source is incorrect. This move was reverted by @Ukireland: before Asarlaí reinstated their undiscussed and contested move [1], to which the article has remained ever since. Mabuska (talk) 12:25, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 12:51, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Asarlaí good enough then, though the "Place name type" parameter at [3] states "T", which the search page legend says means "Townland", so that link had nothing to do with the settlement. [4] states "V", which means town. Mabuska (talk) 15:21, 17 February 2017

Okay guys many thanks for your contributions on the subject and to Mabuska for opening the discussion on my behalf. Therefore, the next stage is to change the title page back to Ederney since it is agreed that is the official spelling of the village so I would be grateful if this technical aspect could be carried out by an authorised administrator as soon as possible.
