Removed opinion about Butler's alleged bias. It was derogatory toward a living person, was unencyclopaedic (nobody genuinely believes Butler was abducted fom Northampton) and no citations were made. In my opinion it was also incorrect, but that doesn't signify. Aredbeardeddwarf 19:36, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can't listen to his commentaries. He spoils the game for me. Acorrector (talk) 21:41, 20 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Blue

[edit]

What the hell does "was at Cambridge for Blues in 1976, 1977 and 1978" actually mean? Surely it should say 'was awarded a Blue at Cambridge in 1976, 1977 and 1978'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.196.43.45 (talk) 10:09, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Political Thought in the Lead

[edit]

I have removed: He was also an outspoken supporter of Welsh independence. from the lead. It remains in the main section, and is certainly WP:DUE there. However I would argue that this is not leadworthy and raises isses around WP:NPOV. Butler was known primarily for his passion for rugby. He clearly had political views, but why are we singling out this one? Why not his other campaign work on prostate cancer? Why not his party political views? If the independence campaign was his consuming passion, I would stand corrected and it belongs in the lead, but from what I see, this was a cause he supported along with many others, and singling it out in his bio is not NPOV.
