[edit]Should East Indian also reffer to people from the country of Indian? Currently Indian = People from India and Indian = Native American.
I've noticed the 'East Indian' option on many ethnicity questions and after asking a few people everyone said that East Indian = People from India.
I will add this to the East Indian page unless someone else thinks otherwise.

- You're absolutely right. The term is NEVER used to mean Native Americans. I've corrected that. Softlavender (talk) 01:44, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
- How peculiar. Here (in the UK) such forms would include Indians under "Asian". I assume this is a US form where "Asian" is taken to mean Chinese, Japanese, Korean etc. Anyway... what really confuses me is the reference to "western hemisphere" in the description. I don't understand what that means in this context. Tesspub (talk) 09:08, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
