[edit]Does anyone have any valid sources to confirm this information? --MsGingerHoneycutt (talk) 20:26, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
Full Name Verified?
[edit]There seem to be two variations to his actual name. MoMA, the Smithsonian, and an academic journal from Oxford record his name as "Ernest J. Bellocq." Can anyone verify that his full name was actually John Ernest Joseph? MsGingerHoneycutt (talk) 20:47, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
Not Creole
[edit]Note that Bellocq was not "creole" - i.e. descended from a French or Spanish colonial family. He would be considered a "foreign French" since his grandfather immigrated to the U.S. after Louisiana was a U.S. state. Eflotte (talk) 01:02, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
