"Tarkovsky on acid"

[edit]

Try as I might, I cannot find the original cite for this quote. It's used again and again in promotional material for the film and I suspect it may have originated with the director himself who has counted Tarkovsky as an influence. One cite says a "viewer compared it to Tarvosky on Acid" while another says it was a "critic" who made the comparison and yet another says it was a "reviewer." My money is on Stanley himself given his tendency towards self-praise. I think the man is brilliant but if you listen to him talk during the supplemental material on Dust Devil, you'll see what I mean. He's given to making these kinds of statements.Lisapollison 03:26, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The quotation on the DVD is from Steve Beard and reads in full, "Looks like Tarkovsky on acid and feels like Nightmare on Elm Street placed through a cultural blender." Who Steve Beard is, I have no idea. Gavin6942 14:06, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed this quote for now as it's not really appropriate for the lead, and needs more context. Andrzejbanas (talk) 03:59, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Dustdevildvd.jpg

[edit]

Image:Dustdevildvd.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Miramax

[edit]

Please do not add production companies and/or distributors without a source. The infobox suggests to only add worldwide or the countries of production for distributors. Regardless, the ones being added are unsourced. Do not add any without a source. Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:52, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Lede

[edit]

Does the article need that template at the start? I can't think of anything vital that's missing from the lede, and I don't think there are any rules (as opposed to guidelines) about how many paragraphs long ledes should be. Per$1$tenceofv1$1on (talk) 20:57, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
