"Drone carrier" not restricted to aircraft carrier sea surface vessel analogues
[edit]The term "drone carrier" has also been used to refer to aircraft and land vehicles that carry deployable drones. The deployed drones themselves, can be ground, water, or aerial drones as well, not restricted to UAV/UCAV. -- 64.229.90.32 (talk) 04:50, 29 June 2024 (UTC)
- I agree and would be happy if other users help to add content to this article and create a new article about UAV carrier or a new section if possible. -- Iri1388 (talk) 09:50, 29 June 2024 (UTC)
- Just contributing an example:
- In this x.com video, a Ukrainian drone manufacturer uses the term, "drone carrier". The video shows a large quadcopter deploying a smaller quadcopter. The principle is explained in an article from Nov 22, 2023. Although it's still an aircraft carrying a drone, it seems notably different from, say, a large crewed aircraft deploying drones.
