I owned an 1984 Shelby Charger that was silver on Garnet Red - purchased used with 16K on the clock in 1985. The article says the color was "new" for 1985 which may be in error - or the one I owned was produced late in '84. I do have the large sales brochure for '85 which does show the Garnet Red being available. I was told, at some point, that the way one could tell the '84 from the '85 was by the wheel lug count - 4 in '84 and 5 in '85. I had 4 lug 15 inch "Shelby" style wheels on my '84. Something to look for a source on to verify the "new" color claim. THX1136 (talk) 00:38, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Should have read further down. In the "Shelby" section it notes that garnet red was available in '84 with only the silver on black being new to 1985. I am editing to make the sections consistent. THX1136 (talk) 00:48, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
