Controversy section
[edit]I don't think this controversy is pertinent to an encyclopedia article about Discovery Communications. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.4.141.92 (talk) 17:22, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
- [1] here are the guidelines for notability. I'd make the case that it is notable. The issue has received press coverage from mainstream newspapers and trade mags (e.g. Playback magazine). And $1 million is not chump change. Glennchan (talk) 17:18, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Hallmark channel?
[edit]I'm pretty sure that Hallmark Channel shouldn't be listed in this article.. they're not a Discovery network. Macnbc (talk) 16:33, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Discovery Channel Magazine
[edit]The company had also published Discovery Channel Magazine and it ceased publication recently. Anyone knows more about the magazine and please add some details to the article. --Quest for Truth (talk) 09:37, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
Lost in Poland
[edit]I apologize to the editor(s) who wrote the section, especially if English is not their first language, but it is full of grammatical errors to the point of incomprehension. It needs some serious editing, but I am not even sure what it is trying to say, so I don't know where to begin. Steve Marethyu (talk) 02:27, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
Discovery on Netflix
[edit]Most, if not all, of the Discovery Channel shows that Netflix had for streaming got removed a short bit ago. I've not been able to find a source for this, though (all I can find are things from 2011 about Netflix getting several Discovery shows). --Thunderbird8 (talk) 07:39, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

Merge the category page between Discovery, Inc. and Scripps Cable Networks
[edit]Hello, Wikipedians.
I suggest that the category page of Scripps Cable Networks must be merge to Discovery, Inc. on March 6, 2018. Ridwan97 (talk) 09:43, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
NBCUniversal/Discovery inc. merger
[edit]I was told that Discovery inc. should consider merging with NBCUniversal, for Universal to compete against Disney, who owns National Geographic, and because of the time NBC had a Discovery Kids block. --ChowderRulez (talk) 14:09, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
Hostage situation
[edit]Starter pistols do not 'fire rounds', as such; they fire 'blanks', and are constructed such that they ONLY fire blanks; did anybody fact-check this? 72.251.15.178 (talk) 22:42, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
WarnerMedia/Discovery, Inc. merger
[edit]I suggest that a new page be created, and it should include all the info about the merger between WarnerMedia and Discovery, Inc.. This page should be called Proposed acquisition of WarnerMedia by Discovery, Inc.. AdamDeanHall (talk) 15:54, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
- This is not correct.
- Discovery, Inc. did not go defunct. It was not directly involved in the 'merger', which was actually not a merger but a Reverse Morris Trust carried out via subsidiary organizations.
- See https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1437107/000119312522028329/d249842ds4a.htm#stoc249842_187 (e.g. Explanatory note or other sections).
- According to the document above, Discovery, Inc. (“Discovery”), was renamed Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc.
- It is still the same company, and there should be no separate article for 'Warner Bros. Discovery'. 62.122.200.65 (talk) 15:24, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
