- As of today, nothing seems to have changed so there's no point moving the article yet. --AussieLegend (talk) 00:57, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- Student Portal for high school students, school certificate students and high school certificate students now has it listed under the "Department of Education and Communities", only the text has changed not the banner due to it being a image file.

- In line with NSW Public Sector: Principal Departments and Other Bodies released on 17 August 2011, it is proposed to move this page from the Department of Education and Training (New South Wales) to Department of Education and Communities (New South Wales). Please advise any objections by 21 November 2011. Jherschel (talk) 13:03, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

Requested move
[edit]- The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
No consensus to move. The other moves should be listed as a multi part move if they need to be considered for a move. Vegaswikian (talk) 18:45, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
Clarify It has been suggested that I, a human that makes mistakes, offer reviewers and administators some additional information in order to make an informed decision about this requested move. So, here I go:
- It is suggested that this article, the Department of Education and Communities (New South Wales) be moved to New South Wales Department of Education and Communities on that basis that all other wikipages established for New South Wales government departments are styled in this manner.
- However, should this requested move be resolved in the negative, it is then suggested that the following pages by moved to remain consistent in styling:
- New South Wales Department of Attorney General and Justice → Department of Attorney General and Justice (New South Wales)
- New South Wales Department of Primary Industries → Department of Primary Industries (New South Wales)
- New South Wales Department of Premier and Cabinet → Department of Premier and Cabinet (New South Wales)
- New South Wales Department of Planning and Infrastructure → Department of Planning and Infrastructure (New South Wales)
- New South Wales Department of Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services → and Department of Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services (New South Wales)
- New South Wales Department of Health → Department of Health (New South Wales)
The policy to guide discussion is WP:NC-GAL. Jherschel (talk) 11:02, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
New South Wales Department of Education and CommunitiesSouth Wales) → New South Wales Department of Education and Communities – I made a typo when making an earlier move from the Department of Education and Training (New South Wales) to its correct title. Jherschel (talk) 14:41, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- Rather than leave this article at the wrong location I've moved it to Department of Education and Communities (New South Wales) to be consistent with its previous location. Is there a reason you wish to move it to New South Wales Department of Education and Communities? --AussieLegend (talk) 15:08, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- Comment. I would like to consider this RM, but I am reluctant to get involved until its details are made clear. Can someone fix it all please? NoeticaTea? 04:25, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose As part of a reorganisation of NSW government departments, the "Department of Education and Training" was renamed to "Department of Education and Communities". Jherschel tried moving the article from Department of Education and Training (New South Wales) to New South Wales Department of Education and Communities but somehow ended up with New South Wales Department of Education and CommunitiesSouth Wales). I'm not sure why he wants to move "New South Wales" from the end of the title to the beginning as this seems to contravene Wikipedia:Naming conventions (government and legislation) (WP:NC-GAL). As I indicated above, rather than leave this article at the clearly wrong location I've moved it to Department of Education and Communities (New South Wales) to be consistent with its previous location, which complies with WP:NC-GAL. (New South Wales Department of Education and CommunitiesSouth Wales) has now been deleted under WP:CSD#R3) However, since Department of Education and Communities is a unique name, there is a case to move the article there, but not to New South Wales Department of Education and Communities. --AussieLegend (talk) 06:41, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
- Comment As the proposer of the move, and now understanding WP:NC-GAL, I have no objections either way as the New South Wales Department of Education and Communiities or the Department of Education and Communities (New South Wales). However, it is worth noting that all other government departments with pages are decribed as follows New South Wales Department of Attorney General and Justice, New South Wales Department of Primary Industries, New South Wales Department of Premier and Cabinet, New South Wales Department of Planning and Infrastructure, New South Wales Department of Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services, and New South Wales Department of Health. Whatever approach is adopted, can we be consistent across all departments. Pages yet to be established include the Department of Finance and Services, the Department of Family and Community Services and The Treasury. Whatever decision is made here will impact on the above pages. Jherschel (talk) 09:50, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
- Jherschel:
- With respect, I must ask that you use preview first, every time you post. The details in RMs matter!
- Not New South Wales Department of Education and Communiities,
- but New South Wales Department of Education and Communities.
- It must still be hard to understand what the intention of this RM is, for new editors arriving on the scene. How about adding a clarifying addition in the initial text at the top?

Department of Education (New South Wales) → New South Wales Department of Education – For consistency with the other NSW Government department pages. Mqst north (talk) 08:44, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose. New South Wales pages have always been at this title until you started making undiscussed moves yesterday (and unless you re-reverted all of my reverts at least some of them are back there). The Drover's Wife (talk) 08:28, 9 September 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose. So you start moving other pages and then claim this one should also be moved for consistency with them! You couldn't make it up. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:08, 12 September 2018 (UTC)
