Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... this relates to a person who has been recently murdered and the story is evolving so this article will improve as more facts are learnt around this. The person is significant as it appears she was murdered for the islamic dress that she was wearing, which is a first in the UK.(your reason here) --86.28.154.19 (talk) 08:10, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This article has no encyclopediac value and should be deleted. There is no evidence that she was murdered for wearing Islamic dress.--Flexdream (talk) 18:55, 5 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is WP:NOTNEWS - no indication of any encyclopedic aspect of this incident. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 03:23, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have finally put this up for deletion. It appeared to have been written in bad faith to suit an agenda, putting undue emphais on her clothing in an unsolved crime. It's quite a shame that newspapers wrote that in their headlines, in a way it was objectifying the deceased. '''tAD''' (talk) 02:08, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Article title

[edit]

In a moment I shall be moving this article back to Death of Nahid Almanea. We should not be using the word Murder, unless there has been a conviction for murder for reasons of BLP and sub judice. In comparison the Murder of Lee Rigby article was not moved to "murder" until after a conviction. Martin451 00:06, 25 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Salvageable

[edit]

The article can be salvaged seeing as the suspect is admitting to a double homicide, though not murder. Killing two people in the UK is rather rare, moreso as the two people seem to be entirely unconnected (not a wife and her new boyfriend, for example). There is also the added detail that it is a minor who is in court for it. '''tAD''' (talk) 21:08, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I believe you whitewashed the major notability of the case, being that it was assumed to be a case of islamophobia by many, per the papers. Although not true, it did lead to some hysteria.--☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 21:23, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Loriendrew Now the killer is identified, the fact that a schoolboy killed two random people for no reason is going to last longer than any premature reports during the investigation. However, I did add that ISIS threatened revenge attacks, using a more reliable source than some of the tabloid trash who also carried that story. '''tAD''' (talk) 21:31, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
