Move
[edit]Is it cool if this is moved to Death of Asel Asleh as discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Asel Asleh? I still believe that his death easily meets the notability guidelines while WP:BLP1E comes into play for the person. This should not impact article content except for maybe a change of the "Life" section header to "Background" or "Asel Asleh".Cptnono (talk) 23:11, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Contradictions
[edit]There are tons of contradicting reports. Was it live ammunition or a rubber bullet that killed him? Was he involved in the protest and throwing stones, only helping a friend who was throwing stones, just observing, or not involved at all? There are numerous sources and none of them say the same thing. Does anyone know from previously looking into this if any of the stories have been discredited? - I don't think it is officially clear. The Or Commission, the security forces and the Asleh family all said different things.--TM 04:09, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
- An editor needs to sort it out or ax the info contradicted by sources. Just because I am tagging it does not mean it is my responsibility to go through the mess. The tag informs the reader that the information may not be accurate which is needed if the information stays as is. Cptnono (talk) 08:27, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- There is no point in adding the disputed tag if there is no reasoning on the talk page as to what you feel is disputed. I removed it because there was no discussion or anything regarding the issue.--TM 13:02, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry if I was not clear with my first statement. Was he attending a protest as the article states? "Attend" is vague enough that it could work but actually detailing what he was doing there (even if it means spelling out three different accounts) is more factually correct since "attend" can be read different ways. Same goes with every mention of "shot". Was he shot with a rubber bullet or not? Time to clarify or it might be misleading which makes it essentially factually inaccurate. The article reads one way while the sources do not verify it. And I am not talking about just sources I have found but ones actually used in the article. So instead of complaining about the tag maybe try sorting it out. That is why my first comment was requesting a hand from anyone who had knowledge of it to expedite the process. AT this point, the article is so bad it might as well be deleted (even though I was OK with keeping it) since neutrality is part of WP:NOT which is criteria for deletion. And I am leaning that way since sorting this out will be much more of an effort than anyone (including myself) wants to put in. Cptnono (talk) 05:59, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
