Addition
[edit]Was just browsing through and I noticed that only Mens' Basketball, Women's Volleyball, and Women's Football. We all know that these teams are the dominant forces in the De La Salle's drive for a UAAP championship. I think it's only fair to list information about the other sports as well. Also, I noticed that players in the current roster are included under the notable players, wouldn't it be better if they were in a table of their own? I can research about the teams in the OSD archives of DLSU. If you have any other information, feel free to add. I'll try to contribute some information. - D2B - 11:31, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- What are your thoughts in creating a separate article for the Green Archers (Men's Basketball) because it could take the bulk of the Green Archer's webpage. - D2B - 11:54, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
The Green Archer article can still handle it, but feel free to expand it futher. It would be great if you can expand it with information from the OSD itself. --Mithril Cloud 12:17, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- If it gets long enough, you can split it at De La Salle Green Archer basketball. --Howard the Duck 13:01, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

About the 1991 finals against FEU, it was the third game of the best of 3 finals that was replayed. I was a spectator way back then and i just cant stand the wrong information that was written here. Though i'm a La Salle alumni, I still think that the UAAP board's decision is logical. It wasn't La Salle's fault. The UAAP board admitted the mistake of the officials so they have to correct it by replaying game 3. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.2.167.169 (talk) 15:46, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
The scope should be limited to basketball
[edit]"De La Salle Green Archers" should refer to the basketball players only. Lasallians who play other sports - taekwondo, chess, swimming, baseball, bowling, golf, bowling, football, badminton, volleyball - are not called "Green Archers" (e.g., the chess players are called Woodpushers), so they should be mentioned in a separate article, not here.
Basketball history
[edit]The statement that the Green Archers were a successful basketball since its participation in the NCAA is erroneous. De La Salle's sport in the early days of the NCAA was football. The Green Archers dominated this division in the early days of the league. It's only success in basketball was a one time championship victory against powerhouse Ateneo in 1939 season. This was considered a monumental upset and was never repeated for several years. However, many consider this the initial catalyst for the lasalle-ateneo rivalry.
The hottest basketball rivalry back in the early days of the NCAA was Ateneo vs. San Beda. 139.130.237.18 05:38, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit]What's the deal with those ugly tags? Those aren't that disputable anyway. --Howard the Duck 16:11, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
So does the Green Archer has a connection with Robin Hood? Robin wears a green getup. --Howard the Duck 08:16, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Team rosters
[edit]I've removed the team rosters from the article since and this is a general article about all of the De La Salle University athletic teams so there should never be too much focus placed on one particular team which loses sight of that. While it's appropriate to include some content about each of the school's teams, individual rosters and other excessively detailed information is more suited for individual team or individual season articles than it is for a more general article such as this. Not only will such information likely become outdated as one season changes to another, there are also WP:Namechecking, WP:NOTEVERYTHING, WP:NOTDIRECTORY and WP:BLPSOURCES issues that may come into play. This article is not a team guidebook or yearbook for the school's athletic teams. Content which is properly sourced and summarizes the teams and their accomplishments is fine, but too much detail is not OK. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:31, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
